L V (Bud) McGuire

L V (Bud) McGuire has over 35 yrs petroleum industry experience, most in drilling and operations management positions. His forte is building strong operations and drilling teams, an experience repeated with several companies of all sizes, including Conoco, Hamilton Bros. Oil & Gas, Kerr McGee, EOG Int ’l, and Mariner Energy.

His drilling teams have consistently ranked in the top quartile of industry performance, and he developed two operating groups that were acknowledged as outstanding by their peers.

His skill set includes excellent knowledge of downhole operations and organizational capability to pull together a purpose-driven team and get their best results. He is also adept at small field development solutions as evidenced by the Gryphon development, which initiated the FPSO concept in the North Sea, and included the first use of the subsea “spool” tree. He has also held bottom-line responsibility for major operating units as a corporate officer for a Fortune 500 company.

He has extensive offshore and subsea experience and has worked the Arabian Gulf, India, North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, and US Onshore operating theatres.
