APS offers the benefits of top-performance drilling expertise without the financial burden of full-time drilling staff.

 

Drilling Costs are a large per-centage of most Exploration and Production (E&P) company budgets. Further, drilling AFE overruns are often a major contributing factor to exceeding overall E&P budgets. Use of the latest technology, best engineering practices, and proper management techniques can solve the problem of drilling cost overruns. But this generally requires a full-time, in-house drilling group, which can also be expensive, particularly for E&P companies who drill only a few wells each year. APS provides a service which gives Clients the benefits of world class drilling expertise without the burden of carrying that expertise on the payroll during times of little or no activity.

APS can provide a “Subscription Service” wherein Clients pay a small yearly retainer in return for preliminary drilling program designs and cost estimates, economic evaluation of prospects for leasing/lease sales, and other functions normally handled by an in-house drilling staff. When the Client undertakes a drilling effort, APS will staff the drilling project at customary industry rates for personnel, and provide direct manage-ment of the drilling activity. The retainer is determined from the Client’s estimate of activity and may be adjusted from time to time by mutual consent.
